WORD ON THE STREET: A car has smashed into a home in Melbourne’s north.

A man is being questioned by police, after ploughing a car into a house in Mill Park.

It’s believed speed may have been to blame, with car careering through a fence and smashing into the front of a brick home on Childs Road, around 2.30pm on Tuesday.

The driver, aged in his 20s, managed to escape serious injury and was arrested at the scene.
