Word on the Street: Children’s book character pops up in strange Melbourne location

Beloved children’s book character Wally is popping up is strange locations around inner-western Melbourne.

Residents in Yarraville woke this morning to multiple parking metres covered by the same red-and-white-striped shirt associated with famous character.

It follows controversy in previous years as Maribyrnong Council looked to re-introduce paid parking metres in the area.
