WORD ON THE STREET: Four arrested after speeding car smashes after evading police on Riversdale Road

WORD ON THE STREET: Four people have been arrested after a dramatic pursuit came to a potentially dangerous end at Hawthorn.

The group was taken into custody after the car they were in smashed into two others at the intersection of Riversdale and Glenferrie Roads shortly before 3.30pm on Tuesday.

‘It was probably the most terrifying thing I’ve ever seen,’ witness Claire told Tom Elliott.

Police said they first spotted the car on Heatherton Road, Dandenong, an hour earlier after it sped past police.

The vehicle, which was being driven erratically, was followed by police and a short pursuit took place before being terminated.

Nobody was injured.
