Uber has increased its minimum fare and is introducing a booking fee.

3AW Drive can reveal the lowest cost of a trip in Melbourne will be $6.95 from June 9.

They’re also introducing a 55 cent booking fee on all ridesharing trips.

“This fee is a flat fee added to every trip for riders that will in turn help support Uber’s operational costs,” Uber said in a statement.

“The booking fee is included in the rider’s fare. In turn, Uber will deduct a booking fee from you.

“Our continued investment will help improve the safety, reliability and sustainability of the Uber experience for everyone.”
