Worker suffers electric shock, Belgrave and Lilydale train lines delayed
An investigation is underway after a worker suffered an electric shock when the power was switched on early on the Belgrave/Lilydale train line.
The incident brought train services in Melbourne’s east to a standstill on Friday.
The worker suffered the shock around 4.30am while working between Box Hill and Laburnum stations.
It’s believed the power was turned back on earlier than expected.
The worker was taken to hospital for observation, but is said to be in good spirits.
Metro Trains says an investigation is underway
Trains resumed on the line from Ringwood to Camberwell shortly after 8am, but commuters reported delays of between 40 minutes to an hour.
