Aquatic researchers in Victoria’s Western Port Bay have captured local swell sharks glowing green on camera for the very first time.

This phenomenal discovery was made by local marine scientists who built a custom underwater torch.

Speaking on 3AW Breakfast with Ross & Russ, aquatic scientist Sheree Maras said this is the first time the phenomenon has been proven in this specific species, which is native only to Australia’s temperate shores.
