‘Wrecking rampage’: Gang of men smash up Maccas in terrifying theft

A McDonalds restaurant has been smashed up with garden stakes in a terrifying robbery in Melbourne’s north.

Five men entered the Essendon store on Keilor Road shortly before 5am and went of a wrecking rampage, shattering windows and computers with their makeshift weapons.

They stole mobile phones and bank cards from staff, and case from the store.

They then fled in small blue car.

A heavy police police presence was reported by a Ross and John listener shortly after the attack.

Officers are now investigating.
