Yarra City councillor rips colleagues over ‘bin tax’

Yarra City councillor Stephen Jolly has ripped into his colleagues over a proposed “bin tax” he says is being used for the council to get around rate caps.

If implemented, residents would be made to pay a $115 levy to, on top of their rates, to have bins collected.

“It’s just not good enough,” Cr Jolly said.
