Yarra Valley truffle grower may have uncovered a record-breaking truffle
A truffle grower in the Yarra Valley believes he may have uncovered a record-breaking truffle.
Yarra Valley Truffles owner Stuart Dunbar and his dog Lani discovered the truffle, weighing at just over 1.5kg last Thursday.
Mr Dunbar believes the fungus could retail for around $4,500 dollars.
He told Neil Mitchell the find could put his farm on the international truffle map, as he’s not aware of any larger truffles on record.
‘The only record we can find is a 1.277kg truffle in France in 2012,’ he said.
