‘You should be outraged’: Tom Elliott reacts to ‘extraordinary’ governor-general pay rise

Tom Elliott has reacted to the “extraordinary” 43 per cent pay rise for incoming Governor-General Sam Mostyn, who will earn more than $700,000 a year.

The 3AW Mornings host said “it’s too much money” and pointed out the hypocrisy of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

“You should be outraged,” he said.

National Director And Chief Executive Officer of The Australian Republic Movement, Isaac Jeffrey, says the whole situation with Ms Mostyn and Albanese “doesn’t pass the pub test”.

“Not only does it not pass the pub test, I don’t think the monarchy passes the 21st century test,” Mr Jeffrey told Tom Elliott.
