Young boy’s wheelchair stolen from Reservoir home
An 11-year-old boy has had his wheelchair stolen in Reservoir, just days after being released from critical care in hospital.
The theft from his family’s Henty Street home happened sometime between 4.30pm and 7pm on Monday.
The young boy has spent the last 25 days in a critical care unit recovering from a serious lung infection.
His mother says the heartless act happened just days after he was discharged from hospital.
“He was in a coma for most of his stay in hospital which had a significant impact on his recovery and further impacted his mobility,” she told Victoria Police.
The boy is housebound as the family waits for a replacement wheelchair to arrive.
