Young man killed in Camberwell house fire

A young man has been killed in a Camberwell house fire.

Multiple calls were made to emergency services at about 12.30am on Friday morning.

Some of the occupants of the Kingsley Street home managed to flee the burning house before crews arrived.

It took about 40 minutes to bring the blaze under control.

A 25-year-old man was found dead in a bedroom.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, however, it’s not being treated with suspicion at this stage.

Fire crews say there weren’t any working smoke alarms in the home.
