Young tradie dad’s impassioned plea for greater respect for women goes viral

A tradie has a simple, heartfelt message to combat what he says is Australia’s “shocking rape culture”.

Hazelwood dad Jakson Elfring posted a video on his Facebook page, imploring men to take a stand and have respect for women.

He said he and his wife were disturbed by the number of sexual assaults in the news of late, and he feels the message isn’t getting through.

“Respect for others is not hard,” he said.

“Have respect for your mum, that’s a good start.

“Three of the easiest words you can live by – no means no.

“The rape culture here in Australia, is shocking.”

His video has been shared thousands of times, and viewed nearly 900,000 times on Facebook.
