Two young women were the victims of a horrifying axe attack in south-east Melbourne on Sunday night.

Two axe-wielding men attacked and smashed a car two people were sitting in at around 9:30pm on Sunday night in Berwick.

State Opposition Leader Brad Battin and member for Berwick joined 3AW Drive and had his say on the horrific attack.

“This is probably one of the worst I’ve seen,” Battin said on 3AW Drive.
