RUMOUR CONFIRMED

A year 9 student at Kew High School has required “medical attention” after he was injured in an incident involving a “number” of year 12 boys.

The Rumour File was alerted to the incident late last week.

Kew High School released a statement, saying a group of boys were playing Rugball (a hybrid of soccer and rugby) when the incident occurred.

The school rejected claims on The Rumour File a bottle was used in the incident.

The school said the year 9 student was collected by his parents and sought medical attention.

“We are taking this very seriously and I am investigating the matter,” Kew High School principal Clare Entwisle said.

“We have arranged meetings with the students involved and their parents, and will take disciplinary action, where appropriate.

“I am shocked and upset about this incident at our school and will be doing everything in my power to ensure it is handled in line with my obligations and community expectations.”
