Youths armed with crowbar attempt to smash moving car at Cheltenham

A man has described the terrifying moment youths armed with a crowbar attempt to smash his car, all while driving along a main road.

Wayne claims the group tailgated him at Cheltenham, before one of them leaned out of the window and attempted to hit his car with a crowbar on Wednesday morning.

He said incident happened on Warrigal Road, the driver of a stolen blue-grey Mazda 3 had taken off at speed towards Mentone.

Wayne has told 3AW’s Neil Mitchell he managed to get a photo of the car, giving the rego 1GK6NI to police.

“They gave me the bird and tried to hit my car with a crowbar!” he said on 3AW Mornings.

“I think the car was stolen to tell you the truth.

“The guy that was driving was dark coloured … They had hoods on.”
