Youths escape Malmsbury Youth Justice Centre
UPDATE: The final two teenagers who escaped from Malmsbury Youth Justice Centre have been arrested, more than 24 hours after they escaped.
About 30 inmates were allegedly involved in a riot, with 15 escaping in staff cars, before allegedly carjacking vehicles on the Calder Freeway.
By this morning, three teenagers were on the run and police were investigating if violent crimes in Noble Park, Bonbeach and Moe were linked to the group.
Deputy Commissioner Andrew Crisp says a 17-year-old was arrested at Ballarat around midday, and the last teens were picked up at Colac this afternoon, after a sightings of a Ford sedan.
