Zoe Ventoura chats to Denis Walter about her new role in Underbelly
Actress Zoe Ventoura says her role in the upcoming mini series Underbelly Files: Chopper presented a unique challenge.
Taking on the character of Chopper’s first wife, Mary-Ann Hodge, she told Denis Walter on 3AW Afternoons she had to do some research to understand the mindset of a woman who wanted to marry someone in jail.
She says the show delves into the relationships and personal side of Chopper’s life, a story that’s yet to be told.
“It’s a fascinating story and an exciting part of what this Underbelly Files is about,” she said.
“It’s not only telling the story about Chopper the violent criminal we all know, it’s telling the story of the other side of his personality, which was him as a man a man privately, that his friends and family knew which was a very intelligent man.
“It’s a really interesting duality, it’s certainly not about just Chopper.”
She also spoke to Denis Walter about juggling her career and her husband’s, Dan McPherson.
