The AFL is set to lock in the next batch of fixtures for the 2024 season in the coming weeks, with timings for rounds 16 to 23 about to be confirmed.

But Sam McClure and Matthew Richardson disagree with the timeframe on when match times are finalised.

Sam believes that fans should only be given a month’s notice to ensure the best games are fixtured in marquee slots, while Richo believes more time was needed so supporters can plan travel in advance.

“It makes no sense,” Sam McClure said on the AFL’s current timeframe to confirm match timings.

“I think eight weeks as a minimum to sort out your work and life,” Matthew Richardson replied on Wide World of Sports.
