Essendon legend James Hird had some fresh comments to make on Friday about his head coaching aspirations at his former club.

Hird spoke at a function at the MCG today as apart of ‘The Male Hug’ today, with Kevin Sheedy also there.

“James Hird has taken his public campaign to be Essendon’s next coach to the next level,” Sam McClure said on Sports Today.
