AFL boss addresses North Melbourne’s bid for a priority pick

Tom Elliott

AFL boss Gillon McLachlan says he’d be “staggered” if North Melbourne doesn’t apply for a priority pick this year.

Speaking on 3AW, the league chief said he wasn’t going to play “stupid charades” about whether or not the struggling Roos deserved additional help at the draft.

McLachlan, who will finish up as league boss later this year, said he hadn’t personally spoken with North Melbourne about a priority pick.

“I’d be staggered if they didn’t apply,” he told Neil Mitchell.
