Richmond chief Brendon Gale has remained deliberately tight-lipped about whether he’ll be a contender for the AFL chief executive role.

Gale is seen as a popular choice by many to replace Gillon McLachlan, who is stepping away from the role at the end of the season.

Speaking on 3AW, Gale said he understood the interest, but didn’t want to add to the speculation.

“That’s something I’d prefer not to discuss,” he said.

But he did say he wasn’t “satisfied” with what he’d achieved in the game.
