Leigh Matthews admits he was surprised to see Patrick Cripps cleared at the AFL tribunal on Thursday night.

But he told Neil Mitchell he would have been “very surprised” if the league launched action to have the ban reinstated, which the AFL has since confirmed it won’t.

“It’s not a travesty of justice, or anything like that, because I think it’s a very fine line on this particular incident,” Matthews said.
