Could this man be Gillon McLachlan’s replacement? He says he’d consider it

3aw mornings

Outgoing Melbourne Grand Prix boss Andrew Westacott says he’d consider putting his hat in the ring to replace Gillon McLachlan as the AFL’s chief executive.

Westacott has announced he’ll be standing down from his current role after next year’s Formula 1 Grand Prix.

The AFL recently announced McLachlan’s departure from league headquarters would now be early next season.

“Of course I’d talk to them,” Westacott told 3AW on Friday morning.

“I love footy and I think the AFL is in great shape, given what Gill and the commission have done over many, many years.

“I’m sure there is going to be plenty of considerations for me down the track.”
