Industry expert reveals the likelihood of a rear-ended driver receiving compensation

Tom Elliott

An industry policy advisor from the Victorian Automotive Chamber of Commerce says the driver who was rear-ended by a stolen vehicle six weeks ago has a few options to pursue compensation.

Kathy Zdraveski says Sam Wernert could reach out to police to get the names of the thieves, but it’s unlikely insurance would compensate her.

“She’ll have to decide ultimately if she takes the path of suing them personally, because I personally don’t see them … covering her under the insurance of the BMW that was stolen and hit her car.”
