Hawthorn head coach Sam Mitchell has responded to Melbourne head coach Simon Goodwin’s comments on Finn Maginness after his tagging job on Clayton Oliver last week.

Goodwin said Maginness is a player “who doesn’t want the ball”, but Mitchell came to the defence of his tagging midfielder.

“I think every player in the competition would love to be called challenging and frustrating,” Mitchell said on 3AW Football.
