An 82-year-old grandmother who was rescued by two heroic primary school students on Halloween has thanked her rescuers live on air.

Esma had fallen and broken her leg in her Ferntree Gully home when she heard Roy Manning, 11, and Jake Grimshaw, 12, trick or treating and yelled for help. The boys sprung into action, getting Esma’s spare key and calling an ambulance.

“These two boys are wonderful,” she told Neil Mitchell.
