Essendon midfielder Xavier Duursma remained upbeat and positive in the rooms post-game, despite going down to Hawthorn by 26 points at the MCG on Friday night.

Speaking to 3AW Football’s Laura Spurway, Duursma said there’s “definitely some positives” taken out of the loss.

“I really thought we tried hard until the end and we gave it a pretty good crack,” Duursma told Spurway.

“We’re looking forward to next week.”
