Triple AFLW premiership player Ebony Marinoff has called for the women’s season to be shifted earlier in the year to avoid footy fatigue after the men’s Grand Final.

The AFLW fixture is due to be released next week, with Round 1 already locked in for mid-August and a Grand Final in the last weekend of November.

Marinoff – who won the Best and Fairest Award last year – told 3AW Football she wants to see changes moving forward.

“It’s just not the right time (when the season starts),” she told 3AW’s Laura Spurway.
