Nic Newman concedes he’s a “sneaky chance” of making a surprise return from a nasty patella tendon injury he sustained earlier this year.

The Carlton defender suffered the injury during pre-season training and was initially expected to miss the entire 2025 season.

But speaking on Wide World of Sports, he says he’s going well and remains an outside chance to make a remarkable comeback for the Blues this year.

“I’m a sneaky chance (of returning this year),” he said on 3AW.

“I’m going well … I’ve got an important month of training with the group and seeing how the knee copes.”
