Recently retired Carlton defender Sam Docherty has given his thoughts on new AFL football performance boss Greg Swann proposing multiple rule changes for the 2026 season.

The proposed changes include a last touch out of bounds rule between the arcs, removing the sub, a whole competition bye after round 15 and moving the pre-finals bye to the week before the grand final.

“The poor big fellas are going to have a little bit less to do,” Docherty told Jimmy Bartel on Wide World of Sports in relation to the last touch out of bounds rule.
