A big story is emerging at the MCG after Tom Stewart was subbed out early for Geelong with concussion.

The Cats defender was slammed into the turf by Hawthorn’s Mabior Chol, who appeared to suffer a wrist injury in the incident.

Matthew Lloyd immediately recognised the magnitude of what it could mean for both Stewart and Chol, who could come under MRO scrutiny for a dangerous tackle.

“That’s a big story,” he said on 3AW.

“It’s hard to see how (Stewart) plays out this game or next week.”
