The AFL commission has approved two major rule changes for season 2026.

Both the centre bounce and the sub rule have been removed, however clubs will still have to select 23 players as there is now five players on the interchange.

“I would’ve loved to see the bounce stay for the start of each match, ” Tony Jones said on 3AW Mornings.
