Jamarra Ugle-Hagan is set to join the Gold Coast Suns in the trade period, which will see the young forward have a fresh start after a 2025 season to forget.

Matthew Lloyd had his say on the Suns’ strong interest in the former number one pick and thinks if it wasn’t for Gold Coast, he would have to play VFL footy in 2026.

“I think he is so fortunate and lucky that somebody like the Suns are willing to give him that opportunity,” Lloyd said on The Trade Off podcast.

“It would be great if he went on a base salary of $100,000.”
