The Saints have withdrawn their interest in long-term trade target Leek Aleer, after the high flying defender requested a trade in recent weeks.

AFL great Matthew Lloyd joined 3AW Afternoons and reacted to the surprising backflip by the Saints.

“You really feel for him, because he’s gone out on a limb,” Lloyd said on 3AW.
