Matthew Lloyd has listed the type who Hawthorn must involve in the Zach Merrett deal if they hold any hope of prising him out of Essendon.

Merrett’s future remains clouded, with the Bombers rejecting Hawthorn’s first official offer for the Essendon captain.

Fringe Hawk Henry Hustwaite was part of the offer, which included multiple first-round picks.

“This is the difference between whether Hawthorn maybe wins the premiership or they don’t next year,” he said on 3AW Drive.

“They need to give something of note to get something.”
