Why Carlton are one of the big trade period winners according to Matthew Lloyd
Matthew Lloyd believes Carlton was one of the big winners out of this year’s trade period.
The Blues were one of the most active clubs, losing the likes of Tom De Koning, Jack Silvagni and Charlie Curnow, but gaining a suite of valuable first-round picks in future years as well as Ollie Florent, Will Hayward and Ben Ainsworth.
Lloyd told the Trade Off podcast that Michael Voss would be desperate to see the club’s next period of growth through considering their strong draft hand in the coming seasons.

“I could see the smiles on Carlton’s people’s faces because they’ve set themselves up,” he said.
“Jagga Smith will captain Carlton one day, that’s how impressive he is.”
