Geelong coach Chris Scott has broken his silence on the controversy surrounding star player Bailey Smith.

Smith has been sent a warning letter by the AFL amid polarising social media activity since last month’s Grand Final, including several controversial posts during the club’s post-season Mad Monday event.

Speaking after being named as Victoria coach for the upcoming Origin match against Western Australia in February, Scott said Smith’s time at the Cattery has been an “outrageous success”.
