Sam Docherty has broken his silence after being withdrawn from speaking at a pre-game function on Thursday night at the MCG.

The ex-Carlton captain made headlines last week after his voice message on the Sydney loss was made public on Daniel Gorringe’s podcast.

“I don’t have any hard feelings about it, at the time I thought it was a bit of an overreaction,” Docherty said on 3AW Drive.

“Ultimately it was a very big misunderstanding and miscommunication, mainly from my language.”
