Andrew Dillon has raised eyebrows over the continual debate over the AFL Grand Final start time for season 2026.

When asked on Saturday Footy Preview, Dillon said that weighing up tradition against progression is critical for what will be a long-term decision in the future of the game.

“I think there’s an appetite for us to continue to assess what’s best for the footy, what our fans want and what’s best for the future of the game,” Dillion said on 3AW Football.

“That’s the focus we’ve got. I’m not forecasting where it will go and where it won’t go.

“Tradition is really important, but so is progression.”
