More hip-pocket relief is on the way for Australians, following an announcement from the Reserve Bank this morning.

With excess charges on credit and debit cards becoming a thing of the past, as of October this year.

Press PLAY to unpack how this change will look

Appearing on 3AW Mornings, Adjunct Professor at Swinburne University, Steve Worthington, said that more Australians want less confusion on what they are paying for.

“I want to see it very, very clearly. We’re paying see what the price, you know what the price is. That’s the price we pay,” he said.

Card surcharges currently add up to $1.6 billion a year around Australia.
