Sam McClure has spoken on the shock sacking of Melbourne Demons CEO Paul Guerra.

The club reportedly parted ways with Guerra this morning, after just seven months in the role, with former West Coast, Geelong and Carlton CEO Brian Cook taking over in the interim.

“This has come as a surprise to everyone in the industry,” McClure said on 3AW Drive.

Former 3AW Mornings host Neil Mitchell reacted to the news earlier on 3AW Afternoons.

“I was talking to him (Guerra) only last week,” Mitchell told Tony Moclair.
