‘Just nonsense’: Public health professor dismisses plan to end black market tobacco industry
There are calls for Australia’s tobacco excise to be cut to zero in an attempt to kill the black market.
Sydney University School of Public Health Professor Becky Freeman told 3AW Mornings host Tom Elliott she was not in support of this.

“Cutting the tax you would absolutely just be putting a lighter in every kid’s lunchbox by making cheap tobacco available everywhere to everyone,” she said.
