Caroline Wilson says the AFL is in the midst of an image crisis.

There has been fierce criticism of the state of the game on the field of late, however, there are a stack of problems developing off it, as well.

She said the league’s relationship with women was currently an issue.

The latest twist involves the arrest of AFL great Mark Thompson over alleged drug offences.

“Gillon McLachlan has got some big problems,” Caroline Wilson said.
