‘Absolutely staggering’: Why Caroline Wilson doesn’t think James Hird will return to Essendon

Caroline Wilson has weighed in on Essendon great James Hird putting himself forward to return as head coach at the club.

The journalist doesn’t think he’ll return to the club, stating she finds the situation “absolutely staggering”.

“This is a club that has had a bit of a messiah complex,” Wilson told Jacqui Felgate on 3AW Drive.

“I think there is an element of selfishness to this that he can’t see how divisive it would be.”
