Advice from one suspended Magpie to another

Collingwood’s Josh Thomas has some advice for his suspended teammate Jordan de Goey.

“Cop it on the chin.”

De Goey is set to return to the VFL this weekend after a club-imposed suspension for drink-driving, with his sights set on a return to the senior team.

Thomas, who spent two years out of the game for testing positive to a prohibited substance, told 3AW Football it’s all about how de Goey responds.

“To Jordy’s credit, he’s put his head down and done everything that’s been asked,” Thomas said.

“He’s still only 21. He’s learnt a lot from it and he’ll be better in the long run for it.”
