AFL announces big investment in Tasmania
Tasmania will have a team in the TAC Cup from next year.
The state has also been granted a provisional VFL licence for the 2021 season.
The AFL announced a $1.4 million investment in Tasmanian football on Tuesday, which also includes plans for a women’s under-18 side in 2020.
League boss Gillon McLachlan said the passion for footy in Tasmania need to be “harnessed”.
“Now is the time to unite,” he said.
