AFL ‘beyond a mess’ as fall out continues to leaked umpire audio

A sense of confusion and chaos surrounds the AFL right now, according to Jacqui Felgate.

Her comments come on the back of a fortnight which has seen the furore around Willie Rioli’s on-field comments, as well as confusion about who was to blame for play not stopping after Lachie Schultz was concussed last Thursday night.

The 3AW Drive host questioned how the AFL could misjudge multiple serious incidents in recent weeks.

“The AFL is in a state of extreme confusion,” she said.

“Who is the public face of footy right now? Because it’s beyond a mess.”

Richmond legend Matthew Richardson said the AFL “had to get better” with its transparency on major incidents in the game.
