AFL boss Gillon McLachlan says the league won’t be punishing Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge over the verbal lashing he gave a reporter on Wednesday night.

Speaking on 3AW, McLachlan said the issue had been “dealt with” and was keen to move on.

“I think Luke has taken swift and full accountability for his behaviour,” he said.

The reporter in question, Tom Morris, has since been stood down by Fox Sports due to an unrelated matter.

McLachlan was also asked about that, as well as the last-minute decision to can the much-hyped fireworks display at half-time of the season-opener.

He also addressed the huge wait times for food and drink at the MCG due to staff shortages.

“Hospitality, generally, has huge staff pressures,” McLachlan said.

“I hope our supporters understand that is where things are at.”
