AFL getting closer to decision on transgender policy

AFL boss Gillon McLachlan says the league is close to releasing a policy on transgender footballers.

Transgender footballer Hannah Mouncey says she wants answers before end of July, or she will take the league to the Human Rights Commission.

She was prevented from playing in the AFLW last season.

McLachlan told Neil Mitchell the league would have an announcement to make in the “coming weeks”.

“It’s a very difficult one,” he said.
